The RFA training path is divided into two branches: the mainly practical one and the one integrated with the university study plan. In fact, since 2019 the Roma Film Academy has developed two parallel and complementary training courses that make up an even more qualifying and complete training offer: on the one hand, the RFA University course, a three-year post-diploma or from other faculties, the only real alternative to the courses with the release of the degree that allows a very complete and truly integrated set and production practice to the theoretical path; on the other, the two-year Academic RFA, aimed at the on-set practice and the development of the professional path of building one’s own artistic identity and of one’s own portfolio of projects supervised by the Academy’s professional teachers. Limited number classes, professional teachers in the sector, educational productions, the Academy’s installation theater, exercises, teamwork, exams and tests, international students: everything contributes to training a serious and reliable professional with a complete artistic conscience. Our students are first of all people we can be proud of.
The Academy
The Roma Film Academy is an academic structure dedicated to culture and training especially in the artistic and audiovisual communication and entertainment fields. In particular, it is proposed as a point of reference for all those interested in pursuing a professional career in the world of cinema, television and communication.
It is important for us that students live and breathe the cinematic atmosphere at every moment of their educational experience within our institution. Our goal is to bring them to “live the set”, to transform their passion into a job that one day, we hope, can bring them back to these studies as professionals, making them an example for future students. This result is obtained only through a study plan constructed in every detail and able to provide each trainee with the tools necessary to learn the technical and theoretical bases of his subject but especially all that concerns the other departments of the set, in such a way to transform him into a professional able to communicate and move in harmony with his colleagues in the department.
The teaching model
Commitment, versatility and motivation must be the watchwords of each student both during his / her studies and once entered into the world of work. The teaching model of our Academy, with a marked Anglo-Saxon imprint, is strongly based on the mutual exchange between teachers and students and above all on the practical teaching of the subject of studies that the student has chosen. In this way the student not only learns the theoretical foundations but begins to master the technical tools enriching his experience in the field, acquiring safety and awareness of his own skills.
Spaces and structures
The Roma Film Academy is one of the most important and prestigious film schools in Europe. The location formed by Cinecittà Studios and the Campus is perfectly suited to the practical nature of the Academy, allowing educational activities to be carried out in spaces equipped to simulate the typical sets and settings of cinema. The theoretical classrooms, the university-style auditorium, the gym and the green open spaces, complete the equipment pertaining to the Academy within the Cinecittà Studies.
The stage and the sets
The Roma Film Academy has a theater, sets and equipment for the daily teaching of sets and classrooms, characteristics that make the school a unique training structure, in which students can practice in a totally environment similar to the professional exterior.

For each new two-year period, the Roma Film Academy updates the teaching equipment, from professional digital cameras (BlackMagic, Canon, Panasonic) to the lights and machinery vehicles, to the hardware equipment of production and post production, always in use for teaching.
