A training of excellence in the professions of the image which is accompanied by solid knowledge on the whole film process: scenario, realization, editing.
Our pedagogy is characterized by a constant back-and-forth between the many practical exercises, film projects (documentaries and fictions) and mainly technical, scientific and aesthetic courses.
The vocation of the School is indeed to train high-level creative collaborators who will have the adaptability necessary for professions where the techniques, know-how and creative processes are constantly evolving.
Hence the importance of a complete pedagogy, which comes from our research projects.
Semester 1 is devoted to building the foundation of artistic, technical and scientific knowledge likely to be mobilized throughout the course. Students will also have to assimilate fundamental knowledge about images and their creation process in view of the transition to practice.
Semester 2 is geared towards getting to grips with the work tool and initiating basic skills in the cinema professions. It mainly consists of filming exercises devoted to the basics of cinematographic grammar in fiction and documentary.
Semesters 3 and 4 are intended to deepen the technical and artistic intention with exercises more specifically related to the image and projects of short films more and more consequent.
They are also characterized by more advanced theoretical courses, oriented towards the problems of the profession and an initiation to research work.
Semester 5 revolves around options that vary from year to year, and can become a career opportunity. It is also a semester conducive to European and international exchanges. The relationship with the professional world remains very present.
Options (2018/2019):
“Lumière”, under the direction of Yves Angelo
“Visage”, under the direction of Pascal Lagriffoul
Semester 6 is entirely devoted to the production of the dissertation composed of a written part and a practical part. It gives students the opportunity to do documented work with the objective of developing, deepening and theorizing a problem linked to sound, to the concepts that govern creation or to those that implement manufacturing processes. This approach, supervised by professionals and teachers, promotes professional integration as well as the pursuit of doctoral studies.
