To be successful in Script Development or Assessment you need to be able to recognise writing talent, while at the same time apply your industry knowledge of what works for audiences and what the market is looking for. In reading a screenplay for the first time, an Assessor or Developer will both assess the market potential and consider ways in which the story can be improved.
You must have experience with storytelling to get the most from this course as there will be an assumed level of knowledge in relation to storytelling and writing. It is suitable for practitioners who have screenwriting experience, for creative producers, authors, playwrights and development executives with industry exposure.
By the end of the course, participants who have successfully completed all assessments will have the tools to take on junior level development roles, work as a freelance script assessor, or apply the knowledge acquired during the course to their own work within the screen industry.
If you have no industry experience or exposure we suggest you complete some practical screenwriting courses before thinking about this course.
This course is only open to 18+.
