The aim of the course is to train the professional figure of the author of photography.
During the first year, the course is dedicated to the knowledge of the elements that make up the cinematographic language, the technical means and the different figures that make up the troupe. By studying the first lighting elements, the students learn the work of the assistant operator and the machine operator. The training proceeds with digital literacy, which involves understanding the essence of the video signal.
During the first two years, students acquire in-depth notions of art history. During the whole three-year period, teaching modules related to the technical and artistic study of analog and digital photographic photography are active. and the dark room. Every week there is an interdisciplinary film shooting laboratory in collaboration with the students of the courses of Direction, Acting, Sound and Editing.
During the year, students are engaged in the production of film products in collaboration with all the school’s educational areas.
In the second year, the study of cinematographic language is deepened with particular attention to lighting and image composition. The courses provided focus on digital practice, from the work of the Data Manager to that of the D.I.T., from conforming to color correction, and on the theoretical and practical use of steadycam. Studies and activities that converge in the realization of different series of short films.
In the third year, having verified the level of learning achieved, a course of Visual Digital Effects (VFX) is activated, short 35mm film exercises are carried out and notions of restoration are introduced. Graduation films are made together with the students of the other courses, usually shot with Arri Alexa. The last period of the year is aimed at promoting the introduction of students into the world of work, promoting their participation as interns on films in progress.
