Academia requires graduates to enhance their research capabilities and skills. The Master of Arts (by Research) allows students to research within an area of interest and develop their communication, qualitative and quantitative research skills.
Students in the Master of Arts (by Research) can research in an area of interest within the Faculty of Society & Design. Students are supervised by Academics with specialist knowledge in an array of areas. Graduates can use this program as a stepping stone to a PhD program.
About the program
The Master of Arts program provides students with the necessary research skills for academic careers in the university or research sector, or professional employment.
The Master of Arts (by research) project submitted for examination must be between 40,000 – 50,000 words in length, and written in English.
Continued enrolment in the program is conditional on the submission of satisfactory six-monthly progress reports.
Outstanding candidates who make significant progress in their research during the first nine months (or part-time equivalent) of their research may be considered for PhD candidature. In successful cases, the PhD candidature will be considered to have begun at the time of commencement of the Master’s degree.
The minimum requirement for admission to the Masters of Arts (by Research) program is a four-year (i.e. eight semester) Honours degree (First Class, 2A, 2B) or a qualification or combination of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to the above by the HDR Committee.

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide documented evidence that you have achieved an IELTS score = 7.0 (no subscore less than 6.5. Test results should be less than two years old.
Bond University offers limited numbers of Research Training Program (RTP) stipend scholarships for domestic and international students.
Transfer credit is not available in this program.
