University degrees: Courses
Course length: 2 years
Course city: Rome
The Production course offers students the necessary tools to express and develop their aptitudes, to deal with professional reality, and thus access the production sectors or roles of general organizer, executive producer, producer and distributor. The program of the course is developed in three distinct training phases, interspersed with internship experiences in film and television companies.
During the first year the students study the practical bases of the profession – stripping of the script, work plan, agenda, quote – and face the first basic experiences of the set.
During the second year, a series of teaching modules is proposed: the law on cinema, the national collective agreement for crew members, the administration phases, internal tax credit and external tax credit, the tax shelter, the Media program and Eurimages, the production process of the low budget film, postproduction. During the year, students are engaged in the production of film products in collaboration with all the school’s educational areas.
During the third year, the mechanisms of marketing and financing, cinematographic and television distribution, copyright, development of a production project and pitching are studied in depth. Once the degree of learning has been verified, diploma films are made together with the students of the other courses. The last period of the study year is aimed at encouraging the introduction of students into the world of work, promoting their participation as interns on films in progress.
