Cinematography is a scientific art form, and our two-day practical cinematography workshop will help you become a master of capturing motion picture photography, focussing on two key areas of cinematography: camera work and lighting techniques.

The Workshop will move from technical explanations to looking at specific examples and then on to hands on shooting.
Day1: Camera
Operating, the frame, ratios, lens choice (for S16mm, 35mm and video), camera movement, depth of field, focus pulling, mag loading
Day2: Lighting
Lighting for film and video, hard and soft light, colour temperature, exposure, film stocks, gain, filters, use of light meters
Students will also have the opportunity to develop their camera maintenance skills, including camera set ups, loading magazines, changing lenses, fitting and adjusting video assist and other accessories.
